The acronym for SUPPORT stands for: Servants United to Pray & Praise Our Redeemer Together. We uphold God in prayer and praise Him for His love, grace and mercy on our lives. Our Lord is the Healer and Strength we believe in and He will guide us all in our endeavors. We are not professional counselors, but we listen, encourage, and support by sharing common experiences. Above all, seek the help of our God in prayers. Apostle Paul writes in Phillippians 4:6,7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Our theme continues to be to Reach Out with Acts 17:27,28 as the guiding scripture. Activities and meetings focus on ways to reach out to individuals experiencing anxiety disorder and /or depression, and on serving community and church. These activities may include guest speaker(s), hands on craft making, projects, outings, and outreach projects to Pearl City Nursing Home, etc.
We will continue to invite professionals in the area of depression, to speak at one or two of our meetings. We will also do short term bible studies and establish prayer partners.
Meeting are open to anyone, family members or friends who may be struggling with anxiety and or depression. For more information; contact Gail Kaminaga at 808.455.3629 or Karen Ujimori at 808.341.3029.
